SmartSpace was launched in 2012 to create the perfect model in agile commercial office solutions. But becoming the market leader in technology-based, agile and fixed commercial furniture didn’t happen overnight.
SmartSpace’s ability to offer robust, honest, tech-savvy value and its commitment to professionalism and engagement that are second to none, were achieved over a lifetime. Two lifetimes, in fact.
Between them, managing director James Dodunski and sales manager Sheila Ye have grown SmartSpace from a four-person team to a business employing 30 staff, in just six years. Many combined years in the industry brought them to this point.
The goal at SmartSpace is simple—to be industry leaders, not just in commercial furniture, but in workplace culture, both now and into the future … and to create healthy, positive change that will impact the lives of people.
James Dodunski established SmartSpace in May 2012, backed by over 25 years in commercial office fit-outs.
His can-do, no bull attitude, creativity and passion for delivering the best products and services has seen James build a vast network of happy clients and dedicated suppliers.
Never one to do things by halves, James enjoys water skiing with his 2 kids, long walks on the beach with his wife, and sweating it out at Cross Fit.
Co-owner of SmartSpace, organiser and driver of our team. While helping clients get the best solutions possible, Sheila also drives the SmartSpace team to excel and consistently perform at their best.
Building trusting relationships is just as important for Sheila as getting things done quickly and accurately for her clients, many of whom return to her repeatedly for her expertise and advice.
With five sisters and a growing family of nieces, family is a dearly cherished part of her life.
Sales & Project Manager
When it comes to project management, Jonathan Teddy is about as distinguished as you get. His specialties include excellent problem-solving skills, outstanding technical know-how and making things work under tight budgets.
His friendly nature, sense of humour and diligence combined with his hands-on approach to projects make Jonathan a popular and trusted member of the SmartSpace team among clients and colleagues alike.
Sales & Project Manager
Kaitlin Craw is our trusted and knowledgeable account and project manager who is always looking to go the extra mile for her clients. Her nurturing, open and honest personality provides her clients with the assurance that she is dependable and has their best interests at heart.
Her attention to detail, management skills and friendly personality ensure Kaitlin has built strong relationships with clients and partners – she has made a name for herself for her patience, reliability and customised finishes.
Pei Tian Leong uses her quick thinking, strength with numbers and management skills to assist in daily business tasks.
She has a diverse background - she moved to Auckland from the Kapiti Coast after high school, has five years’ experience in hospitality and administration, is fluent in English and Cantonese and conversant in Mandarin.
Her interests include travelling, drawing and basketball.
Sales Support & Project Manager
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Tess worked in the fashion industry for Karen Walker.
She spent two amazing years abroad living and working onboard large-scale super yachts in the South of France,
Tess joins SmartSpace to continue and follow her interests in design and project management. She is extremely organised, enthusiastic and has a high level of attention to detail.
Designer & Space Planning
Felicity joins SmartSpace with over 12 years' experience in workplace design, including six years working in London for international design firms. With degrees in spatial design and architectural draughting, she combines creativity with a pragmatic approach to meet client briefs.
As well as raising two young boys, Felicity loves travelling and designing arts & crafts for the home.
New Business Development
Sandy joins SmartSpace with a long association within the commercial fit out arena, she brings a comprehensive knowledge of the industry and has been responsible for many high profile projects working alongside well known Architects, Construction Companies and End Users.
Her attention to detail will deliver complete solutions with a friendly and open attitude.
Family is her focus with her two grown children both located overseas, she enjoys travelling and an active social life.
