The goal at SmartSpace is simple—to be industry leaders, not just in commercial and office furniture, but in workplace culture, both now and into the future.

James Dodunski

Managing Director

James Dodunski established SmartSpace in May 2012, backed by over 30 years in commercial office fit-outs.

His can-do, no bull attitude, creativity and passion for delivering the best products and services has seen James build a vast network of happy clients and dedicated suppliers.

Never one to do things by halves, James enjoys his fishing, surfing, & time with his 2 kids & wife, and sweating it out with his strength & fitness regime.

Sheila Ye

Sales Manager

Co-owner of SmartSpace, organiser and driver of our team. While helping clients get the best solutions possible, Sheila also drives the SmartSpace team to excel and consistently perform at their best.

Building trusting relationships is just as important for Sheila as getting things done quickly and accurately for her clients, many of whom return to her repeatedly for her expertise and advice.

With five sisters and a growing family of nieces, family is a dearly cherished part of her life.

Amy Armstrong

Sales & Business Development

Amy has a passion for interior fit-outs and the way they can shape and influence how people work and their interactions with each other.

She loves working alongside her clients to  better understand their requirements and deliver solution based results.  

Aussie born and a proud mum of twins Amy’s favourite thing is spending time with her family, and holidaying in the blue mountains.

Pei Tian Leong

Operations Manager

Pei Tian Leong (PT) uses her quick thinking, strength with Excel and organisational skills to manage SmartSpace's stock, logistics and general operations.

She has a diverse background - she moved to Auckland from the Kapiti Coast after high school, has eight years’ experience in hospitality and administration, and is fluent in English and Cantonese.

Jains Pillay

Project Manager & Technical Solutions

Jains Pillay comes from a furniture manufacturing background and brings with him extensive experience in factory management, technical drawings and furniture sales.

He has a love of many sports, but in particular enjoys playing football. A proud father of 2 children, he also spends his time training them at their local football club.

Felicity Wong

Designer & Space Planning

Felicity Wong has a diploma in architectural technology, a degree in spatial design and has worked in workplace design for 15 years, both here and internationally.

Felicity answers client briefs with a creative, pragmatic approach. Finding her niche in soft furnishing solutions, she is excited to be designing a soft seating range to add to the SmartSpace catalogue.

Felicity finds her inspiration in almost everything she does, with a passion for travel, food, and, of course, her family.

Caroline Screen

Sustainability & Operations Administrator

Caroline’s administration, and operations experience comes together perfectly for her role with SmartSpace. With sustainability being a passion, she’s excited that she will help drive our environmental programme.

In her spare time when she’s not in her garden or watching sport; she loves anything design related - so much so, she is studying towards a Diploma in Architectural Technology.

Pauline McInnes


Pauline McInnes is our book-keeper extraordinaire, complete with a degree in Japanese, a history of work experience in customer services and operations in the banking industry and 2 lovely daughters.

Detailed, trustworthy and accurate, Pauline helps keep SmartSpace’ financial and accounting records in top shape and advises on growth, profit and cash flow.

Julia Garrett-Coyle

Health & Safety Superstar

Julia has 25 years’ experience in Operations, Health & Safety. She helps keep our team & contractors safe on those busy fitout sites.

Julia is a bit of a 'Tomboy' & enjoys spending time with her son boating, camping, tramping, mountain biking & paddle-boarding.

We are proud to keep our manufacturing and logistics right here in New Zealand. Operating from our manufacturing and logistics building in Onehunga, the team is dedicated to producing high-quality furniture time-and-time again.
